What we found
Three big names lead, none dominates
Erie Home appears in 20 of 41 answers (49%), Baker Roofing Company in 17 (41%) and Power Home Remodeling in 16 (39%). 44 of the 73 contractors were named in a single answer.
Manufacturer badges come up more than most roofers
GAF Master Elite is mentioned in 18 of 50 answers, Owens Corning Platinum Preferred in 16 and CertainTeed SELECT ShingleMaster in 7; 27 answers name at least one of the three manufacturers. Only Erie Home is named more often than the GAF badge.
Commercial roofers are a separate list
Tecta America, CentiMark, Flynn Group of Companies and Nations Roof appear in 12 answers: all 5 answers to the commercial flat-roof question and 7 of the 45 answers to the other nine. Tecta America got 5 of its 12 mentions there.
Each engine has its own picks
Leaf Home got 3 of its 4 mentions from Google AI Mode. Baker Roofing Company got 7 of its 17 from Gemini. ChatGPT and Perplexity each named a contractor in 7 of their 10 answers.
“There’s no single best roofer for every home, but national rankings commonly highlight Power Home Remodeling, Aspen Contracting, Baker Roofing, CMR Construction & Roofing, DaBella, and Erie Home.”
“Manufacturer certifications, such as GAF Master Elite or Owens Corning Platinum Preferred, can also be useful, but they do not replace independent reviews and reference checks.”
“Be wary of "storm chasers"—out-of-town contractors who flood neighborhoods after a severe hail or wind storm and disappear once the job is done.”

How we ran the research
10 unbranded questions a real homeowner would ask: who to hire in the US and in Florida, a full roof replacement, storm and hail damage with insurance claims, metal roofing, commercial flat roofs, a local contractor vs a national company, cost and reviews.
Each question was run once per engine in the Glasa product through ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Google AI Mode, market set to United States, on 28 October 2026 (12:15–12:32 UTC).
50 of 50 answers were collected. Firm mentions were extracted from the answer texts by Glasa's research script and merged by name; counts are answers mentioning a firm, not occurrences. Manufacturers and their certification programs, associations, publications, directories and review sites were removed with exclusion lists.
Sources are the URLs each engine cited in its answer, grouped by domain. A firm counts only when it is named in the answer's own text; titles of cited pages (reference lists and inline citation captions) do not count.
One run on one day. AI answers change between runs, accounts and locations, so treat the counts as a snapshot, not a ranking of roofer quality. Being named by AI says nothing about a contractor's licence, insurance, prices or workmanship. Mentions were identified by Glasa's research script from the answer texts; small differences in spelling or abbreviation can shift a count by one or two.
